23-27.09.2024 - Konferenz der International Association of Civil Aviation Chaplains (IACAC)

Vom 23. bis 27. September 2024 findet die Konferenz der International Association of Civil Aviation Chaplains (IACAC) in Frankfurt statt - das zweite Mal seit 1976. Die Konferenz befasst sich mit folgenden Themen:

  • Welche Rolle spielen Erinnerungsorte für Betroffene – auch nach vielen Jahren?
  • Und was bedeutet „Verletzlichkeit“ im Hinblick auf das menschliche Leben und die menschliche Schöpfung?

 Außerdem werden folgende praxisbezogene Themen vorgestellt und diskutiert:

- Gute Unterstützung für an Demenz erkrankte Passagiere

- Luftfahrtthemen rund um die Zukunft des Fliegens und der Flughäfen

- Religion und Spiritualität am Flughafen aus Sicht des Flughafenbetreibers

- Ein Flughafen als „Room of One“, ein visionärer religiöser Raum?

 

Eine der Hauptrednerinnen ist Professorin Dr. Christine Wenona Hoffmann – die wissenschaftliche Leiterin der Konferenz. Sie ist seit 2023 an der Planung beteiligt und die Goethe-Universität Frankfurt ist wissenschaftlicher Partner der Konferenz.

You’re warmly welcomed to the coming International Association of Civil Aviation Chaplains (IACAC) Conference 2024, on September 23-27, 2024 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Looking back to have a Future – Learning to live with our Vulnerability.

The focus of the conference:

  • What role do places of remembrance play for those affected – even after many years?
  • And what means „Vulnerability“ looking at human life and creation?

Practical themes will be presented and discussed: e.g.

- Good support for passengers suffering from dementia

- Aviation themes around the future of flying and airports

- Religion and spirituality at the airport from the airport operator’s perspective

- An airport as „Room of One“, a visionary religious space?

One of the key speakers is Professor Dr. Christine Wenona Hoffmann - the scientific director of the conference. She has been involved in the planning since 2023 and Goethe University Frankfurt is the scientific partner of the conference.
