Events for Parents

Parents can be a valuable source of support when it comes to choosing a field of study. Here’s where you’ll find key information to help guide your children!

Everything used to be so much simpler! In elementary school, your child likely had a very clear professional goal in mind—perhaps dreaming of becoming a firefighter, tightrope walker, or animal trainer. Now, as high school graduation approaches, their vision for the future may have become significantly less defined. How can you, as parents, provide support during this stage?

Research Tools

What information should be available at the end of your literature search? What are effective research resources? Here are some databases and websites we recommend:

The most important thing: Patience!

Choosing a career and a course at university or college is a lengthy process that doesn’t happen overnight. In most cases, starting a course at university or college is not the end but rather the beginning of this process, as your child will go through changes during their experiences in the first semesters. Be patient and keep an open mind if it turns out that the initial choice of course wasn’t the right fit and they decide to head in a completely different direction!
