GoetheLab is a program for high school students offered jointly by various departments at the university. Students are given a wide range of opportunities to learn about research and teaching at Goethe University on topics of global and regional significance. In the process, they gain insights into the breadth and importance of the subjects studied.
Since its founding, Goethe University has been equally influenced by the social sciences, humanities, and natural sciences. The GoetheLab program allows students to experience this multidisciplinary approach to research and teaching firsthand. The focus is not on individual disciplines, but on the necessary combination of approaches to addressing socially relevant issues. Students meet scientists from various departments who introduce them to the respective perspectives of the disciplines and show them how modern research and teaching are interlinked in an interdisciplinary way.
The term “lab” does not refer solely to the science lab for students, but to a prepared workspace with materials for students in a research or teaching facility at the university.
