Science in Schools
The Brückenschlagen project is active in the field of arranging school lectures and science days at Frankfurt schools. Researchers and scientists from the region present current research topics and engage in discussion with the students.
For individual lectures, students and teachers can “invite” scientists of their choice directly into their basic and advanced courses or have them arranged for them.
Science days, on the other hand, are events in which all students in a grade or the entire upper school participate, a “mini-conference” at the school, so to speak, professionally organized with event posters, hospitality for guests provided by students, reporting in public and internal school media, etc.
The aim of these science days is to give young people who are about to take their high school graduation exams a “live” and unconventional insight into the world of scientific and humanities research and thinking through encounters with those who “do science” and with themselves as they prepare for scientific work.
In many cases, the job profile of scientists is discussed in detail, as are the social implications, goals, and consequences of scientific research and its future applications.
The overall program is currently aimed primarily at secondary school students.
