School meets university

studying theology and Catholic religious education

We would like to give your students an insight into studying Catholic theology at Goethe University Frankfurt. A member of staff will discuss with the class what studying actually means and what the content and objectives are. We will also introduce the academic areas of Catholic theology and the questions they address. We will also address current theological debates and show how they are dealt with in the course of study.

The students will get an overview of the various topics in theology and gain insight into studying and life as a student. They will have the opportunity to ask questions about studying and realign their understanding of theology and religion. Food for thought from the discussions on theological questions offers the chance to incorporate topics into religious education classes, continue them, or explore them in greater depth.

We want to show that the content of religious education classes has an academic foundation that is researched and discussed at university. We also want to pass on our students' enthusiasm for Catholic theology to your students – either on campus or at your school.
