PRIF

Leibniz Institute for Peace and Conflict Research

PRIF analyzes the causes of international and domestic conflicts and seeks ways to resolve them. The institute combines basic research with the transfer of knowledge to politics and society. Political education is therefore an essential part of the institute's work. PRIF provides school students with knowledge about current crises, their causes, and possible solutions to enable them to participate in political processes in a global context.
Since 2020, PRIF has been coordinating the PRIF@Schule network, which aims to promote dialogue and knowledge exchange between peace and conflict research and peace education in schools. Teachers, education professionals, and staff from peace and conflict research, education research, and science communication meet at open events.
