Lessing-Gymnasium
The Lessing-Gymnasium is one of the most historic schools in Frankfurt, with roots tracing back to the foundation of the city’s Latin school in 1520. To this day, the school remains dedicated to the tradition of humanistic education, offering Latin as the first foreign language and the option to choose ancient Greek as a third foreign language starting in eighth grade. Of course, modern foreign languages like English and French are also part of the curriculum. The school follows the shortened eight-year academic track for secondary education.
Its educational principles emphasize a comprehensive foundation in academics, a focus on values and scientific inquiry, and preparation for practical and professional life. The goal is to support students individually on their learning journey while fostering their personal growth in a well-rounded way. A special highlight is the school’s music program, which stands out thanks to its cross-grade choirs and orchestras.
