The aim of the program is to enable students to independently identify legal issues within a chosen core subject and develop solutions based on legal scholarship.

In addition to the ability to assess legal processes, the program focuses on teaching students how to analyze and evaluate these processes methodically and grounded in legal theories.

In the minor program in Law, students must select one of the four core subjects (Fundamentals of Law, Private Law, Criminal Law, Public Law). Minor students attend the same courses as major students, where both foundational and current issues of the respective core subject are addressed. Later in the minor program, students will also engage in an in-depth examination of specific issues within their chosen legal field. Depending on the core subject selected, procedural law, European legal connections, as well as philosophical, historical, and societal foundations of law, play a significant role in the education.

Further information about the field of study can be found on our faculty's homepage for minor students:

At the Faculty of Law, high school students can also take advantage of various offerings. Information about these opportunities is available on the central page for events for high school students.
Additionally, prospective students can learn more about the Law degree program through the faculty’s OSA (Online Study Choice Assistant).

During the program, students receive support through subject-specific student advice, an extensive tutorial program for all required courses, a Career Day (job and internship fair for students), and writing assistance during the term paper period. There is also a free notebook loan service available for students.
